Shamik Parekh

Shamik is a Founding Partner at Havilland Active Ventures. Shamik has invested in tech companies spanning healthcare, AI and cybersecurity across Europe, Israel, North America and India. Shamik’s focus at Havilland is sourcing and backing category-defining businesses solving large, complex healthcare challenges.

Shamik joins after spending four years on the investment team at Octopus Ventures, one of Europe's leading venture capital funds with more than £2bn AUM. During his time at Octopus, Shamik identified and supported high-growth healthtech companies from initial capital through to commercial scaling.

Shamik joined Octopus through its acquisition of TenX Health, a pan-European healthtech fund he was a founding member of. He also helped establish and develop the National Association of Primary Care's digital health accelerator in this period, which supported the adoption of innovative technologies across the NHS.

Shamik began his venture capital career at CerraCap Ventures, a California-based venture capital fund investing across healthtech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and robotics across the United States and Israel.

Shamik began his career at a London-based commodities hedge fund, where he invested in and scaled mining operations globally.

​

Shamik holds an MSc from the University of Exeter.
